XPR is our new output, a sublabel intended to feature our effort into a more dance direction.
Releases on Persona Express will be based on unique situations including a new collaborator in the studio, a borrowed synth, new technique, recently designed Reaktor patch, or an idea from a live show that needs to be laid down in a jam rather than a 64 channel, automation-ridden Logic file from hell.
The end-result will then be more quickly accessible to those who follow our music, and will hopefully provide a more timely snapshot of our musical evolution. Because, we won't have to wait the requisite six or nine months between completion of an EP and its release.

REYNOLD ANOTHER WAY

Toulousian Sam Rouanet returns to Persona for a third time after a summer spent in exile in the abandoned company towns of coastal Sardinia, two hours from the nearest civilization, presumably hiding away from the apocalypse of Zombies in Sunglasses who invade Berlin every summer. Demonstrably, Sam's been taking a break from glamorous clubland to go back to the studio and spin some new melodies and rhythms into musical cotton candy.
Luckily, Persona caught up with le Monsieur on Boddinstrasse a few months ago, drank a few bouteilles de vin rouge and procured three new wicked tracks, each of a unique pedigree.
"Alternate" is built on an off-beat kick drum, and teasingly twists its way into full-on Tron at the autumn disco mode, offering both release and catharsis. "Monkey" is the speediest number, with bright happy percussion, and a forward pushing bass section, it settles early into a bouncy chord-driven groove before it takes a darker turn into distorted metallic pads, working on the same rhythm bed and pulling the listener into a different direction. Finally, "Arophopia" brings out the whole white flower garlands being tied into knotted hearts by bluebirds vibe.
In addition to Sam's recent works for Persona, he's been working with Japanese singer Mima Osawa, of the band Draco, to produce her upcoming solo debut.

Modificato Il: Ep
The debut of Persona Records sublabel, Express, is also the comeback of the italian duo from Rimini, Manuel Folgiata and Marco Tonni aka Touane. The 3 tracks are the result of a new way of working with small studio enviroments, using mostly extenal machines and external mixers for summing audio inputs.
